Home staging is the process of turning a home into a house, a product on the market, in order for the house to sell quickly and for top dollar. Staging depersonalizes a home while making it warm and inviting.

Home staging is not decorating. Decorating personalizes a home by displaying collectibles and photos, decorating with your favorite colors and your favorite style. Decorating defines who you are.

A 2007 survey conducted by Staged Homes (stagedhomes.com) revealed that the average days on the market for a staged home is 13.9 days while the average for a non-staged home is 30.9 days. This is because a staged home has the appearance of being well cared for, giving buyers the impression that it is “move-in” ready.
